Smash is a really great game for parties because the matches are short so anyone can jump in, and even someone who doesn't know anything can have some fun just screwing around. Hell, I'd even advise against Mario Party for that same reason. It's not something you could really pick up in that setting without prior knowledge and the games are long. (I've seen it.)īut to more directly address your situation, I feel for you, just consider that in the context of a bachelor party (or any party in general) Dokapon doesn't really work. Just bear in mind those guys are pretty hardcore and they'll probably stomp you if you aren't savy on the Meta. The guys in the discord server ( ) are all really friendly and usually are open to playing with new members. The only other friends I can think of who might like it are always busy these days. Man, I really wanna play the game with people again.
He also said the game would work much better as an online experience, to which I agree, though I doubt they'd ever like, port it to Steam with online multiplayer. Another friend who is going agrees with him, saying it's way too drawn out and thus boring. I was hoping to convince him, but he insists that it's his party and he only wants to do things that he enjoys. Then he realized there weren't any mini-games and thought it was stupid. But after bringing it up with him, he said "Leave it at home." He has played it before, but at that time, I told him it was kinda like Mario Party, so he was going in expecting it to be similar. Then I remembered I own Dokapon Kingdom and thought that would be a fun thing to bring too. I'm going to a bachelor party this weekend and the man of honor, my best friend, told me to bring my Wii so we can play Melee/Brawl and Mario Party.
